What can I expect in my CSA basket?

The slideshow above illustrates a typical full share season. Each season varies.

A full share will contain approximately 3/4 bushel of produce that is ripe and delicious each week. The full share should feed four people who eat a moderate amount of fresh produce. We also offer a half share that would feed about two hearty produce eaters.

The baskets will contain different produce as the season progresses. Typical produce for the season includes:

Early season boxes:

Sweet peas
Spring onions

Mid season boxes:

Green beans
New potatoes
Summer squash
Green peppers

Late season boxes:

Storage onions

And so much more!

What else do you offer?  prices

laying hens

During the CSA season we also offer egg shares. You can get a full dozen of eggs with your CSA basket every week. Our productive gold star chickens are happily laying delicious, brown, farm fresh eggs.

Our tender broiler chickens are grown outside in the fresh air, grass and sunshine and are never fed any antibiotics. We order the broilers in early spring so let us know early if you are interested in some tasty, young chicken!
Beef is tender and delicious around here. From fresh steaks to hamburger, our grass fed beef is a sure way to know what you are feeding your family is 100% home grown goodness. No chemicals needed!

Tasty Thanksgiving turkeys grown just for you and ready the weekend before Thanksgiving. We raise these birds on pasture to ensure we have naturally healthy birds that receive the absolute best care.

We have delicious fresh brown eggs available at the farm as well, until the CSA season starts up again in June. And there are still some tender whole chickens available. Send us an email if you are interested.

Our pork went so quickly again last year and we have already heard from many who have purchased it they would like more this year. This pastured pork is so tender and delicious. Something about the ham and bacon is amazing. It would be hard to eat non-pastured pork ever again.

We are also raising grass fed lamb this season. We have 20 ewes that will have their lambs in March and April. I am so excited to see their little hooves hit the ground running. We are ready to take your order if you would like some lamb. They will be ready in the fall of the year.

Can I order meat and eggs if I am not a CSA member?

Absolutely. You can order eggs, chicken, pork, beef, Thanksgiving turkey or lamb as it fits your needs. If you don’t see what you are looking for in the CSA store ,  you can see our current prices or please feel free to contact us. If we have what you would like available we can arrange delivery if we are in your area or you can come to the farm and pick up what you need. We sell our extras at the Mankato Farmer’s Market and we will definitely sell off of the farm too. Call ahead to make sure we are around although we usually are in the summer.

More affordable than you think:

For a comparable cost of produce from the farmer’s market or grocery store you will get four months of real food grown in real soil by real people with no chemicals! We continually work to supply you with most of your fruits and vegetables during the MN growing season! Included in the share is over 30 different varieties of vegetables and fruits.
